To ensure students never encounter a confusing blank screen, Kickstart provides a fallback view that displays a clear and friendly placeholder message when no content is yet available. This improves the learner experience – especially during course setup phases – by setting the right expectations.
The fallback is part of the Student view, available via the tertiary navigation. It lets instructors preview the student experience before the course is ready. This fallback only appears while the Kickstart format is active. Once the format changes, it disappears, real course content is shown, and the Student view is no longer accessible.

Although the course is still empty, students receive initial information about what to expect.
