For chapters set to manual completion, students must click ‘Mark as done’ to proceed. In automatic completion mode, a chapter is marked complete as soon as the next chapter becomes visible.
Course creators have the flexibility to define the completion mode individually for each chapter.
In manual completion mode, all the elements have to be marked ad done by the learner to complete the chapter.
In automatic completion mode, the next element is automatically displayed when the previous element has been viewed or edited (if mandatory).
Combined with a sticky table of contents, you can see chapters turn green as you scroll through them.
Of course, completion modes can be defined for each element such as polls or H5Ps and also affect the way you reach the outro element of an activity.
