Description

We have created Pure to make our own Moodle sites visually more appealing. While we retained navigation, interface and general layout of Moodle, we tweaked it in various ways to unclutter the whole site and give it a cleaner look. Here’s what we’ve done:

• removed most of the borders
• limited the width for content on the dashboard and course pages
• made important things more dominant and not so important things less dominant
• introduced a subtle animation on the dashboard
• move the activity completion information to the right
• worked a little on typography (colors, weights and size of headings)
• uncluttered the drawer
• … and many little other things

Setup instructions

1. Unzip the file that you’ve downloaded
2. Go to Site Administration > Appearance > Boost
3. Upload the file pure.scss as “Additional theme preset files”
4. Save changes
5. Pick pure.scss as “Theme preset”
6. Save changes
7. Wait a little (styles are cached in moodle)
8. Done!

If you want to disable it again, simply pick default.scss again.

Please note
We consider the maturity to be ALPHA — if you want to use this on a production site, please test carefully! The good thing is that Pure can not break anything, so there’s no real risk for your site.
