With Magic, it is also very easy to create relative relationships between users. First of all, it is necessary to define a role that the respective parent of the user should have. In addition, a profile field is defined, which is then stored in the child account and refers to the parent.
In order to be able to create relative assignments of users automatically, you need a unique identifier, for example the first and last name or the email address of the parent.
If Magic finds the parent account on the basis of the recognition feature, for example the parent’s email address, the child user and parent are linked and a profile field is then created for the child user which refers to the parent.
Define roles that describe a relationship between users and assign the context type “User”.
Define profile fields that match the respective roles and are then displayed in the profile of the respective child user.
Configure your relative role assignments. In this example, the profile field ‘Parent’ is linked to the ‘Parent’ role. This means that if a matching email address is found for this field, the role assignment will also be made.
The email addresses for the Parent, as well as for the Mentor and Coach, can all be displayed in the profile field if they are stored. However, with the current settings, only the Parent role will be automatically assigned to the user associated with the parent’s email address.
By utilizing the Mentees block on the dashboard, ‘Parent’ users can easily gain an overview of all associated child users.
With our Dash plugin, you can also create a block on the parent’s dashboard that allows you to customize the view and elements for your child users. The content dynamically updates, and you can add descriptions and other metadata.
