Automation engine feature
Dynamic content lets you embed activity content directly into your notifications, ensuring that learners receive the right material without needing to click away. This feature supports several activity modules and provides fine-grained options:
Content types include:
- Placeholder-only mode: Use the activity solely to populate placeholders such as
Mod_data. - Description mode: Insert the activity’s description into the email.
- Full content mode: Pull the full content from Page or Book activities directly into the email body.
For Book activities, teachers can even select specific chapters and decide how much content to include:
- Teaser: First paragraph + “Read More” link
- Full, linked: Entire content with link
- Full, not linked: Entire content without link
This makes it easy to highlight important instructions, provide reading excerpts, or deliver essential materials directly to the learner’s inbox.
Chapters (for Book Modules)
Teachers can select specific chapters from a Book activity to include in the notification body. By configuring the Chapters and Content options, they can define which section of the book to include.

Here, a daily mailing with tips is sent out. This time, a book recommendation is shared. The book is available as a Book activity in the course and embedded via dynamic content, showing the first chapter with a link.
