Automation engine feature & Pulse activity feature

Notifications can also be used as reminders with all the notifications functionality like defining a subject, creating a content with placeholders and defining recipients. Reminders help keep learners engaged by ensuring timely communication about important course activities.

Send reminders via a Pulse activity

There are three types of reminders that can be configured:

First reminder: Sent at a fixed or relative date.
Second reminder: Sent at another fixed or relative date.
Recurring reminder: Sent repeatedly at a set interval.

For fixed reminders (first and second), teachers can choose:

A fixed date (e.g., June 20th).
A relative date (e.g., X minutes/hours/days/weeks/months after an activity becomes available).

For recurring reminders, only relative dates can be used, with customizable intervals (e.g., every X minutes/hours/days/weeks/months).

Note: Reminders are only sent if the activity is available. If the activity is not yet available, reminders will not be sent.

Reminder configuration via automation engine

With the automation feature, reminders can be scheduled similarly to notifications.

Scheduling options:

Once: Send the notification a single time.
Daily: Send the notification every day at the selected time.
Weekly: Send the notification on a specific day and time each week.
Monthly: Send the notification on a specific day and time each month.

Delay options:

None: Send the notification immediately when the condition is met.
Before: Send the notification a set number of days or hours before a timed event (e.g., an appointment session).
After: Send the notification a set number of days or hours after a condition is met (applicable to all conditions).

Specify the delay duration in days or hours, depending on the chosen delay option.

To prevent excessive notifications, a limit can be set on the number of reminders sent.

This feature ensures that reminders are flexible, targeted, and help maintain learner engagement by delivering timely and relevant notifications.

After a set period, a reminder is sent about pending activities. A link takes the user directly to the course.
