Approval-based completion

Completion can be dependent on approval from designated roles, such as teachers, parents, or managers. Approvals are granted or declined directly inside the course providing a smooth and intuitive workflow.

This is especially useful for:

  • Instructor verification of assignments or practical tasks
  • Parental confirmation for younger learners
  • Managerial approval of workplace training

Pulse respects Moodle’s role structure, including:

  • Groups – Non-editing teachers can approve only their assigned learners
  • User-context roles – Parents can approve for children; managers for employees

This makes approval-based completion suitable for structured, compliance-oriented, or quality-controlled learning pathways.

Please note: User-context roles, such as parents, must be enrolled in the course to grant approval. If this doesn’t fit your workflow, please see the Reactions feature.

Students will see that approval is required to complete the activity.

Teachers can approve or decline users directly in the course through the approval overview.
