The quick registration feature allows for seamless user registration and course enrollment in a single step. Depending on their authorization, administrators can either enroll users in the current course or select a different course for enrollment. This feature is especially useful for quickly enrolling students or creating demo test accounts within seconds.
Teachers can easily enroll students in courses, regardless of whether they already have an account on the platform. By simply entering the student’s name and email in the quick registration form, Magic automatically checks if the email is registered. If the student already has an account, they are immediately enrolled in the course. If not, Magic registers the new user with the provided name and email, and sends a magic link directly to the teacher, who can then forward it to the student. Using the Magic link, the student can log in and instantly access all visible courses they are enrolled in.
This process is secure, particularly in terms of data protection, as teachers do not need to view or select from a list of users they might not be authorized to access, yet they can still enroll the desired students efficiently.
Site admins with full authorization can register users into several courses by searching and selecting courses in only one step.
Course creators or teachers can enroll users into their own course (current course) directly through a “Quick registration” button without access to user lists.
When a new participant is registered through quick registration, the user who created the account receives a magic link. This link can then be forwarded to the new participant for login.
When a new user logs in for the first time via the Magic link, they immediately have access to the courses they’ve been enrolled in. It’s especially nice to greet the new user with a dashboard.
Of course, the dashboard can be customized individually.
Note: This sample view needs to be configured and is not part of Magic.
In this example, the “Course enrollments” widget from our Dash plugin was used. If the new user wishes to explore additional courses, they can easily browse and enroll in new ones directly through the integrated search bar.
