Automation engine feature
Automation templates serve as the foundation for scalable and reusable automations (from Pulse Pro 2.0). Created globally by users with the appropriate permissions, these templates are independent of specific courses and do not perform any actions themselves. Instead, they define the underlying conditions and actions for future automations, ensuring consistency across all instances created from them.
The Manage Automation Templates interface provides comprehensive control over all templates. Users can:
- Create new templates – Define structured automation processes from scratch.
- Organize templates efficiently – Sort templates and filter them by course category for clearer management.
- Control visibility and status – Adjust availability and activation settings for each template.
- Edit existing templates – Update template configurations as automation needs evolve.
- View instance usage – See exactly how many automation instances are based on each template and in which courses they are used.
In addition, each template provides access to Instance Management, giving administrators fine-grained control over its use across the platform:
- View all courses using the template – Instantly see where the template is active.
- Jump directly into the target course – With admin permissions, navigate straight into the course where an instance is deployed to review or edit it.
- Create new instances from the template – Insert a fresh automation instance into any course directly from the management interface, ensuring fast and consistent setup.
By maintaining a centralized repository of automation templates and providing powerful instance management tools, admins can streamline automation workflows, ensure consistency across courses, and support large-scale automation strategies – while still enabling flexible, course-specific configuration through individual automation instances.

Admins can manage automation templates within an overview.
